My buddy Lou brought me another refret job recently. he picked up this resonator at a garage sale for like $100 or something like that. He plays mostly country blues-style guitar, but the use of a capo and the cheaper nature of this guitar wore down the frets pretty fast. As I was pulling out the frets, i was amazed at how easily they bent like silly putty, and switched em out for harder nickel/steel.
So here it is halfway through hammering in frets. I retaped it afterwards with some better tape once I started shaping them. For some reason, I have a bitch of a time trying to post pics, so i'm just gonna post the finished result.
There it is all finished and polished up, after putting some fretboard conditioner in. it eventually lightened up a little bit back to that nice grayish brown color.
