making progress in the shop

Finally got a jointer yesterday. Now I can finally start doing something with that slab of walnut and the demon maple i picked up about a month ago. After my nap I think I'll start drawing something up since I know what scale length I'm using. If I finish anything, i'll post up a pic.

STELLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Went to the flea market this afternoon, hadn't been there in awhile. Picked up this old Stella parlor fairly cheap with some minor issues. Has a loose brace, and desperately needs new frets. i've got a ton of extra fretwire laying around, so I'm gonna make the repairs and sell it to Lou, who is building up a nice collection of Stellas. Structurally though, its in great condition, much better than the kingston we found last year, but it'll still be good practice/experience.

Scored this on ebay last week, just got it today. Got a great deal because the binding needs to be redone and there are some high spots on the inlay that need to be leveled. Not sure what it came off of, but I think its older brazillian rosewood (i could be wrong, i'm no expert in wood identification), i know its some type of rosewood though. 25.5" scale, appears to be abalam inlays, or some other reconsituted shell material. Sorry for the shitty pic, couldn't find my digital so I shot it on my crap ass cell phone.
